Liz Goldman is drawn to collage for its elements of chance, intuition, and surprise. She does not usually begin with an idea or title, but rather sifts through her collection of images to find one that speaks to her, then builds a larger image with and around that initial impulse.

Through a process that may seem random, she chooses, arranges, and assembles images until she discovers a pattern or meaning in the form that is taking shape.
