I make collages from found images, painting gouache on paper, rice paper, and random papers such as wrapping papers.

The process begins with my choosing one or more images from my large collection. From that initial choice, I search for elements that complement it in form and/or content. As I add pieces I discover a theme or idea emerging from the shape the developing collage is taking.

Our times find us divided along countless fault lines. I find it satisfying and meaningful to bring elements together to create a new whole, a new story.
